Why Modular Construction Matters

From the warehouse office to the modular office building to even the modular home, modular construction methods are becoming more and more important (and more and more accessible) not just here in the United States but all throughout the world in its entirety. But why has modular construction for everything from the warehouse office and beyond become so very popular? Actually, there are a number of different reasons that this is the case – and even more than this one article alone will really be able to cover. But there is no doubting the fact that modular construction and modular construction methods are very much on the rise because of them and growing exponentially the more that time passes ever onward.

For one thing, the modular construction methods such as those that are used to construct the typical warehouse office or even just warehouse partitioning systems will cost far less than some of the more traditional methods of construction that are used here in the United States as well as throughout many other parts of the world. At the very least, costs will be reduced by at least 9%. In some cases, however, savings can be as high as a full 20%, which is certainly something to be noted, especially as modular construction methods such as those used to build the typical warehouse office become used more and more frequently throughout our world as we know it.

In addition to this, overall construction time is able to be reduced quite dramatically when modular methods are used to construct something such as your typical modular warehouse office or other such prefabricated office spaces. This, of course, will hold true to just about any type of modular construction out there and is certainly not limited to the modular warehouse office. For while the typical traditional construction site will take as many as six months – a full half of a year – to complete any given project, the same is certainly not true for the vast majority of all modular construction sites. Thanks to the ability to construct the majority of the project within a factory setting, end times can be sped up immensely, especially when we see some projects being 90% complete when they leave the factory – and typically no less than 60% completed at the very least.

There are many great examples of modular construction projects such as that of the warehouse office being completed much more quickly due to the use and utilization of these modular methods. And there are certainly even more extreme examples than that of your typical warehouse office space or even just warehouse partitions. For one, there was a 57 story building built through the use of modular methods in China – all within just 19 days. If you were looking to use more traditional methods of construction, this would simply just be impossible, no doubt about it.

And when we’re talking about the benefits of using modular methods to build everything from the warehouse office to skyscrapers to residential homes, we must of course talk about the environmental benefit. When it comes to modular methods of construction, this benefit is nothing if not hugely significant indeed. For one thing, the actual amount of waste that is generated at any given modular construction site is likely to be quite significantly less than the waste that is generated at a traditional construction site – up to 90% less, as a matter of fact. After all, the typical modular construction site for something like a warehouse office will use far less of many of the materials considered to be necessary by more traditional construction sites. From wood to cement to timber to bricks and beyond, everything is reduced considerably, something that is certainly taking a step in the right direction in regards to environmental conservation and the like.

At the end of the day, there is no doubting the fact that modular construction is only growing more and more important with the passing of time. After all, methods of modular construction are spreading all throughout the world, from the United States to China and in many places in between as well.
