Signs of all kinds can be seen from one end of the United States to the next – and everywhere in between, for that matter. Signage of all kinds is hugely important, and has many different purposes. No matter what, it is clear to many that signs have long played an important role in the lives of the American public, something that becomes even more clear when you realize that the average person who lives in the United States will see more than 3,000 different signs over the course of a single day.
Business signage, for instance, is just one important type of signage. Business signage is, in fact, essential for any business or company to grow and to thrive. Fortunately, there are many ways in which different types of business signage can be used effectively, from LED signs for businesses to billboards to various other type of on site signage. First, let’s take a look at billboards, some of the most prominent types of business signage out there.
For one thing, this type of business signage is one that will just about always attract a lot of attention, something that the data that has been gathered on the subject more than supports. After all, more than 70% – very nearly three quarters, for that matter – of all people will look at at least some of the billboards (likely those that are particularly eye catching) that they pass by. And more than one third of all people will actually take note of all – or at least the vast majority of – the billboards that they pass.
The influence of billboards as business signage, therefore, is quite the impressive one indeed, showing that such signage for businesses is hugely important indeed. The data, of course, supports this claim. For one thing, up to 58% of the adult population in the United States will actually find a restaurant that they later visit, all thanks to billboard advertising. In addition to this, the very same percentage of American adults will also discover an event that they are interested in in the exact same way. And more than 65% of all people will make some level of shopping decisions while still in the car, giving such business signage the chance to be even more influential over the course of each day.
Of course, on site business signage plays an important role as well, one that is just as critical to the overall success of the business in question than signage like billboards and the like. In fact, on site business signage has become so very effective that it can be compared to actually taking out as many as 24 full page newspaper ads over the course of just one 12 month period of time, a single year. And sales have been found to rise considerably when such business signage is put into place, with even fully priced items selling up to 20% more at the end of the day. This was found not only in a study that was conducted by Brigham Young University, but in other studies that also corroborated this information well. Fortunately, on site business signage can come in all shapes and sizes, and even including some but not other forms of it can end up having a hugely positive impact on your overall ability as a store to bring in customers and influence them to make a spur of the moment purpose.
At the end of the day, we cannot discredit the overwhelming importance of all types of signage. Even signage that does not seek to advertise is important. From signs for churches to outdoor signs for schools to signs for government buildings, such signage should be taken seriously in its overall importance. After all, such signage might not have the goal of selling goods or services, but such signage can help to inform the members of those communities of important events and general information that they should be aware of, to say the very least. Of course, this signage can exist harmoniously with business signage, as both types of signage have a key role to play, one that can influence a great many people at the end of the day indeed.
