At the end of June 2014, the American brewing industry passed yet another milestone at by having 3,040 breweries operating for at least part of the month. However, to do this they needed decent melting furnace equipment. In order to operate for that long of a period of time, melting furnace equipment must be versatile, economic, sturdy and safe.
There are different types of melting furnace equipment; aluminum, lead, steel, gold, silver, copper, etc. You must find the type that is the best for what you need it for.
Breweries are not the only industry that used these furnaces. The next highest ranking industry that would have need of a furnace would be the baking industry. There are actually over 2800 commercial bakeries and more than 6000 retail bakeries in America alone. That’s a high need for melting furnace equipment!
Most operations have some sort of oven whether it be industrial ovens or a gas burner; heat must be used in most industries.
Heat treatment is used for many reasons such as melting, forging, drying, baking and other things. Having safe and reliable heating equipment is the backbone to doing this type of work. You could be working with a lead melter or ribbon burner but whatever the case, know your oven!
It’s very common for commercial operations to use more than one oven. In fact, over 95% of non-institutional operations reported having several ovens that they worked with.
The revolving oven, for instance, can be a very popular one as it holds anywhere from eight to 32 pans at one time depending on the size of the oven. They are major space saver as well as being ideal for baking bread, pizza, bagels, pretzels, etc.
Another example is the round melter. Round melters are cabinets that are fully insulated so as to provide cool exteriors. This is a great energy saver. The fact that it is a convection heater makes the heating that is produced disperse evenly all around the oven itself.
Finding out which oven works for you is crucial to being able to run the correct operation. Don’t get stuck with the wrong one and even up frustrated at your results, it doesn’t have to be that way!
There are several things to consider here, so make sure you go through them all, such as, what are you making? How hot does the furnace need to be? How many batches will I need to make versus how much it will cost me? Write out a list, that always helps! Read this for more.
